I work as a secretary for fire/arson investigators for the State of Tennessee. I like my job and will stay until retirement age, maybe longer.

What do you do for fun?

Go to concerts, swim, draw, photography, writing, much more. I'm always doing something!

If you could meet anyone, who would it be, dead or alive, and what would be the first thing that you would say to them? I’ve met him, but I’d love to have a long conversation with Roy Orbison, about life, faith, overcoming obstacles, how much he inspired my life, and oh yeah, music.:-)

What drew you to get involved with the Nashville NFB chapter?

I’m an activist. It’s in my blood! Teaming up with like-minded people to make life better for all of us, and encouraging other blind people, gives me another sense of purpose.

How have the meetings and association with our chapter benefited you?

I’ve learned a lot. I enjoy the fellowship and the camaraderie, and this is like an extended family with a common goal.

What would you tell anyone who has never been to one of our meetings and may be hesitant about attending?

We’re an active, lively bunch with common goals. You’ll be encouraged, and you’ll learn a lot.
