How to Get Started
- Download the Waymo app from the Apple App Store or Google Play.
- Create a Waymo profile. You will need to add a credit card to your account.
- Open Account in the Waymo app.
- Select Offers and promotions.
- Select Redeem code.
- Enter NFBTN26.
- Your discount will automatically apply to your next two eligible Waymo rides.
Recommended Accessibility Settings for Blind Riders
Before requesting your first ride, open Account, then Accessibility.
Turn on or select:
Descriptive Audio: Select Descriptive Audio so the vehicle can announce important information during your trip, including key turns.
Minimize Walking Time: Turn this setting on to help reduce the distance you may need to walk to reach your Waymo pickup location.
Traveling With a Guide Dog
Waymo provides an option that can make traveling with a guide dog more comfortable.
Under My car, look for Distributed Legroom. This allows you to indicate whether you would like additional legroom in the front or back seat.
Finding Your Waymo
The Waymo app provides several tools to help blind and low-vision riders locate their vehicle.
- Walking directions provide audio and haptic feedback to help guide you toward the vehicle.
- When the vehicle is nearby, use Honk Horn to have your Waymo sound its horn.
- You can also select Play Melody to have the vehicle play a sound to help you locate it.
- When you reach the vehicle, select Unlock in the app. The doors will unlock and the exterior door handles will physically pop out so you can locate and open the door.
Where Can You Ride?
The promotion is valid within Waymo's Nashville service territory. Downtown Nashville and East Nashville are included in the current service area.
Because Waymo's service territory does not cover every part of the Nashville area, check your destination in the Waymo app before making plans.
